The Height are a new teenage indie trio hailing from Salford and are set to release their debut single Nowhere.
The band’s guitarist and vocalist John Denton, will be know by many in the new music community as he has busked regularly across the streets of Manchester to wide acclaim.
As well as John, the band consists of Brandon Greenhalgh (bass) and Ted Ellis (Drums) whose combined talents all shine through on the record, without overpowering the other.
The production and musicianship sounds really accomplished and it’s clear that each member is passionate about music and they have honed their talent to ensure their debut single is one that will live long in the memory.
Nowhere is instantly catchy, the opening chiming acoustic guitars are reminiscent of the Britpop era, before a punchy, resonating bass line kicks in, giving the track its drive and energy, along with a solid drum beat.
The vocal is great, full of confidence, passion and so crisp; you forget that the band are still in their teens.
The lead guitar riffs are really melodic and shimmer throughout the songs three and half minutes, intertwining with the vocal throughout.
Nowhere is superb and is a great debut single. It’s got a great catchy melody and full of shimmering guitar riffs. I already find myself looking forward to what the Salford 3-piece have got in store for us next. I highly recommend that you get this song on your radar, as this is a band that are going to have a big impact on the industry.
Nowhere is released on Thursday 22nd a December and will be available across streaming and download platforms.
The band will be guests on the ThisIsTheMusic meets podcast in January.
