2 Far South are a 2-piece rock band that bridges continents and brings an era-defining sound into the 21st century.
Peter Pote left South Africa and moved to Sweden in 2014 after a stint with Evolver One where he shared the stage with Oasis and Snow Patrol and met Johan Åberg, who had been drumming for various local bands, in the small town of Hassleholm. After a jam session, the duo decided to form a band whose sound can be described as a cross between Nirvana meets The White Stripes, which is a very good cross over to me!
The new single In My Head has the classic grunge sound, full of energy and swagger set against a backdrop of driving drum beats which fill the track with energy and give the song an upbeat feel.
The buzzing electrifying guitar riffs have waltzed in from the 90s Seattle grunge scene and ensures this is a total powerhouse of a track from start to finish.
Lyrically the song is about instances where people over think situations and build things up into something they are not. Instead of just remembering and following our core beliefs.
This is the first time I’ve come across 2FarSouth and I’m glad that I have. In My Head is tune full of great musicianship and great energy that will leave you wanting more!
