The Azurescens are a 4-piece indie band hailing from Livingston in Scotland. Consisting of Gaz (guitar and vocal), Andy (guitar and vocal), Brian (bass and vocal) and Jai (drums), the band formed just over 2 years ago. The Azurescens are named after a psychedelic mushroom, which guitarist Andy found online and thought it sounded cool (They’ve also written a song called Azurescen about being a magic mushroom).
During the last 2 years, the band have been relentlessly rehearsing and recording new music which has culminated in the release of their debut single Middle of Nowhere.
The track starts off with a thumping bass line that heightens the anticipation for what’s coming next, before exploding into life with a pounding drums and a punchy guitar riff that gives the song its energy and are instantly hypnotic.
One of the tracks standout moments are the vocals. The lead vocal is really strong and is supported with great backing vocals, which harmonise with each other and sound fantastic.
The guitar solo is electric. It’s hypnotic and will take your breath away as it overlays the pounding drums the solo just soars, its glorious and is quite simply ready for arenas and stadiums, which based on this evidence is going to happen sooner rather than later.
Middle Of Nowhere is totally addictive and is classic indie rock. The track is one of the best debut singles I’ve heard and presents a lot of promise and excitement for the future.
Middle of Nowhere is released on Friday 4th November and can be pre-saved here.
