Leeds indie rockers, Apollo Junction set to release their swaggering first single from their forthcoming third album!
Perfect Plan, represents the Leeds legends first new music since the release of their second album, All In, which peaked at number 15 in the UK Charts and 3 in the Alternative Music Charts. With over 1,200 copies sold on vinyl from their record label, based out of a garage in Leeds called Shed Load Records, Apollo Junction, have spent 2022 recording new music and touring, which included, playing at Kendall Calling, Tan Hall Tavern (Britain’s highest pub at 1,732ft above Sea Level) and a show at the world famous Jimmy’s in Liverpool. With the bands music also featured in the new Disney Plus series “Welcome To Wrexham”, 2022 has been a highly successful year for Apollo Junction.
The gig at Tan Hall Tavern and an upcoming gig at the haunted Gresley Hall in Derbyshire, allow the 5-piece to interact with their ever growing fan base in a way that other bands don‘t and has supported the band in earning a reputation as a band of the people.
As we’ve come to expect with music released by Apollo Junction, they’ve put their heart and soul and everything in between, into the writing and recording of the music and that is evident on Perfect Plan.
The song will grab your attention from the get go, with huge Muse influenced synths, before big glam rock sounding guitars and thumping drums drive the track to the opening verse, giving the song a thunderous, crashing rhythm.
The pace reduces as the vocal joins in, with the song being driven by the bass line before swirling keys join in, which build up to a climactic and anthemic chorus, which will have you singing along and is really catchy.
Ahead of the songs guitar solo, there‘s hint of a choir which underlines the bands versatility and determination to do things their way and on their own terms.
If Perfect Plan is anything to go by then the up and coming third album will be an epic. The music as always is fantastic and will ensure that 2023 is Apollo Junction’s biggest and best year yet and it will be richly deserved.
