Welsh indie rockers, The Rivers are back with their latest single, Run, which is the bands second release of 2022.
From the moment the opening guitar riff starts you immediately get the sense that is going to be a great tune: and it is exactly that.
Thumping drums that have a real crashing bounce and groovy bass lines, give the track its energy and will have you instantly toe-tapping along.
The songs guitar solo is electric and the way that it dovetails with the drums, almost taking it it turns to be the lead, whilst the other holds the song together is marvellous and is a real joy to listen to and is a testament to band’s craftsmanship as musicians.
Lyrically the song is about associating with someone you know is bad for you and your friendships, always up and down. It eventually gets to the point where you‘ve had enough of this situation and this song is the person pouring out their feelings and frustrations at how they’ve been treated.
It will be impossible to listen to Run and to not become hooked on it. The song is full of catchy and relatable lyrics, great vocals and brilliant rhythms. The song packs a real punch and is another superb single from a band that specialises in them. The Rivers have been criminally overlooked so far: that’s set to change.
Run is released on Friday 28th October and can be pre-saved here.
If you can’t wait until Friday’s release date, then tune into ThisIsTheMusic Rise of The Indie Artists show this Sunday (23rd October) for the exclusive first play of Run.
