Megan Wyn set to release anthemic new single Jealousy
Since releasing Polaroid at the start of 2021, Megan Wyn has gone from strength to strength. She’s amassed over 40k Spotify streams, played at major UK festivals including YNot Festival, TrucK Festival, The Great Escape Festival and IoW and toured with Britpop legend John Power(Cast) and supported some of the most exciting artists on the new music scene including Andrew Cushin, The Skinner Brothers, The Clause andTrampolene.
Jealousy sees Megan move onto a different sound to her two previous singles. Full of emotion in the lyrics (more of that in a moment), Jealouslyis an indie-rock banger that has quickly become a fan favourite for those who have seen her live over the summer months.
Starting off with Megan’s powerful and passionate vocal, which drives the song throughout, before being joined by driving guitars, thundering bass lines and barrages of pounding drums, the pace steps up as we approach the hard-hitting and addictive chorus and overdriven guitar riffs.
The songs melody is rich and uplifting and is one that will be instantly stuck in your head and combined with the addictive chorus makes this single her best yet.
Written when Megan was 15, the lyrics are about feeling as if you’re not good enough and the constant need to compare yourself to others in order to be liked, which is something most people experience in life.
With an ever growing fan base and radio support from the likes of BBC Wales and Gary Crowley(who selected Polaroid for his best of 2021 list), Megan is one of the most exciting female solo stars emerging in Britain.
Jealousy is a classic indie rock anthem, full of energy, passion and a melody that you can’t ignore. For the best of 18 months, ThisIsTheMusic have been saying that Megan Wyn is a superstar in the making, nothing that I’ve heard on Jealousy has changed my mind.
Jealously is released on Friday 30th September and can be pre-save here.
