GRACE CALVER: ADDICTED

Published by

Grace Calver is a 18 year old singer/songwriter living in the Suffolk/Essex border and is one of the most exciting, emerging female solo stars on the new music scene.

She’s perfected her live set over the past 12 months and has played several main stream festivals including Latitude Festival, Into The Wild Festival and supporting Thomas Nicholas (who played Kevin Myers in the American Pie movies).

If you needed any more convincing of that status, she has also just won the Female Solo categoryat this years NMG Awards (New Music Generator) covering East Anglia, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire

Her new single, Addicted, is set for release on Friday 30th September and has been in that live set for the past 12 months, with her ever growing fan base asking when it was going to be recorded and released, so Grace duly obliged and here it is.

Like all  great songs Addicted‘s melody is extremely catchy and will have you humming along in no time. It has a more alternative indie-pop sound than her two previous singles, and sees Grace’s trademark passionate vocal come right to the fore.

“You‘re always on my mind, I crave you all the time, I know one day you’ll be mine, I think I’m addicted to thinking about you, I’ve fallen in love with every single thing you do”

As Grace is quick to point out, Addicted is not a love song: “Life sucks when the person you’re addicted to doesn’t notice you exist. This song is about a slightly obsessive crush – and craving someone’s time and attention a bit too much! I intended to use strong words such as “crave” and “addicted” in the lyrics to show that it might not be a healthy situation, but also to highlight how strong the feelings can be in these situations. It may sound upbeat, happy and positive on first listen, with the belief they will eventually be mine, but the lyrics and vocals carry a sinister air of the stalker about them!”

Thanks to her relentless gig schedule and  being recognised in East Anglian Daily Times list, as being one of 30 inspiring people under 30 in Suffolk, Grace’s confidence continues to grow and this is reflected in Addicted, which for me is the best of her singles to date. Grace has a great voice and that happy knack of writing melodies that live king in the memory. Addicted certainly fits that bill and it leaves Grace Calver on the verge of being a huge hit.

Addicted is due to be released on Friday 30th September and will be available on all streaming and download platforms.
