Formed in Coventry after a chance drunken encounter outside a pub one night, Mvnich have been perfecting their sound since late 2018.
Consisting of Daniel Davis (vocals, guitar), Tom Godwin (bass) and Connor Davis (drums) the 3 piece bring together an array of different sounds from blues to post punk.
They have gone on to support the likes of Catholic Action, headlined Square One in their native Coventry and recently played a sold out HMV Empire supporting Idle Noise. They are following up previous releases “Hard to Breathe” and “Surreal Path” with new single These Armswhich is set for release on Friday 30th September.
Over the past 12 months, Mvnich have locked themselves away and been rehearsing relentlessly and These Arms is the the Coventry 3-piece result and showcases a bold and unique sound, which draws on influences from blues to post punk, but is distinctively Mvnich.
The catchy guitar hooks introduce you to the track with Daniel Davis vocal showing a softer almost vulnerable side during the choruses. ,
However, the sound of the track changes dramatically in pace and direction for the pre-chorus and chorus as the guitars get heavy and a thunderous bass kick in and a Davis snarling vocal suits the change in sound perfectly. We get a real glimpse into bold and unique sound that Mvnichhave been working on, which is really rocking.
Lyrically the song explores the relationships of love and loss and everything in-between. For me the sound of the track is reflected in these topics. The love aspect is explored in the sweet, slower verses, with loss explored through the heavier choruses
These Arms is truly a beautiful listen and is written and performed with a true passion for music and really showcases their skill as musicians. Not only musically but also lyrically. The bold and unique sound that the band have worked is great, full of rhythm and unique.
I can’t wait to see what the band have got planned for the future!
These Arms is released on Friday 30th September and will be available on all download and streaming platforms and can be pre-saved here.
Hear These Arms first on the ThisIsTheMusic “Rise of the Indie Artists” show on Sunday 25th September.
