Having released one of the most Iconic EPs (Iconic) and albums (Soul Boy II) as well as supporting indie legends Kasabian on their sold out UK tour in 2021, The Skinner Brothers have certainly made their mark as being a band of their generation.
This is offset by the utter carnage on their own headline tour as well as various festival appearances in 2022, which sees the band continue to rise and blow away crowds wherever they go.
Their new EP Lonedon, is due for release on September 23rd, and sees the bands trademark passion and self-belief rise to the fore and oozes grit, groove, charisma and plenty of soul.
The EP kicks off with lead single Lonedon, which has gone down an absolute storm with fans and critics alike. The lyrics reflects Zac’s own experience of moving to London as a teenager with the aim of making his mark in music. The chorus will be sung back by the masses and the guitar riffs which immediately follow , have a punky vibe.
Mellow is the type of arena ready anthem that The Skinner Brothers released on Iconic and Soul Boy II and really propelled them to their status of rising rocknroll stars. Full of emotion, the guitar riffs and melodies are really gritty and is a real standout out moment on the EP.
“I wanted the EP to have a mixtape kind of feel. It’s four different songs which I feel captures the essence of the band at this point.”

Loaded Gun starts off with a hypnotic hip-hop influenced drum beat and a MC introducing The Skinner Brothers on stage as the “best new band in the fucking world” a statement that many will agree with. Loaded Gun is full of ragged punky riffs and will be chanted along to at the upcoming live shows. There’s a hint of The Stone Roses in this track and the outro is full of fuzzy psychedelic feedback.
Make It Count is a real surprise as it shows a side to The Skinner Brothers that we’ve not seen before. There‘s a real summer chilled out vibe to the track, whistling that bridges the gap between the verses and choruses and Zach’s vocal really coming to the fore. It‘s extremely catchy and ensures that the EP finishes on a real high.
Lonedon demonstrates that The Skinner Brothers mean business with their perfect mash up of indie anthems underpinned by a punk ethic that firmly establishes their credentials from rocknroll pretenders to rocknroll contenders.
The Skinner Brothers ‘Lonedon’ EP is available on all streaming platforms from September 23rd.
