GALLAHER’S GREEN: THE WAY WE USED TO BE

Gallaher’s Green are a four piece rocknroll band hailing from Manchester, whose influences range from the 60s up to the present day including Oasis, The Rolling Stones, Manic Street Preachers and many more. The band released their debut album in February 2021, Lucky 13, which was self-released and promoted and seen the band amass an impressive 10,000 streams on Spotify, and one I highly recommend that you check out if you’ve done so yet.

The band have previously supported Proud Mary, (who were signed to Noel Gallagher’ Sour Mash record label) as part of their 20th anniversary tour in September 2021.

The new single The Way We Used To Be, follows hot on the heels of Catch The Sun and is set to feature on the bands upcoming second album.

The Way We Used To Be is full of soaring guitar riffs, catchy melodies and sees the Mancunians being quite reflective in the huge singalong opening lyrics, that will have you instantly hooked and want to put your arm around your best mate and sing along to at the top of your voice. Exactly the same can be said of the choruses too.

“I’ve been thinking about those times, the times when it was only you and me, I’ve been thinking about our lives, the way we were, the way we used to be”

The lead riffs are full of swagger, driving rhythms, solid bass and drumbeats that are extremely catchy.

It does have a nod to Britpop in it‘s sound but Gallahers Green have put their own spin on it for the 2020sera. It’s full of energy and passion and thanks to those reflective lyrics, will I’m sure evoke memories of relatable situations for many.

This is a great song that is guaranteed to have you singing along and sees the band firmly put themselves into contention for single of the year.

The Way We Used To Be is set for release on Friday 26th August and can be pre-saved here.
