Following hot on the heels of their excellent debut single Trust and Promises, Fat Dads return with their new summertime anthem Taking our Sweet Time
The track is instantly catchy thanks to those guitar hooks, which evoke memories of peak Strokes, and every other instrument can be heard without overpowering the other.
“Drinking wine in the summertime, talkin’ ‘bout those things we like, I’ll be yours, will be you mine, just taking our sweet time with it”
As said above, the song has a real summer vibe and is a real fun song and the melody, especially the hook before the chorus, will get stuck in your head instantly and I’ve been humming along to this ever since the track was first sent over.
The song evokes memories of those hot summer days, hanging out with your friends and generally having a great time.
I was initially surprised to hear the spoken word part of the song, but it works brilliantly and the lyrics are instantly relatable.
Fat Dads have released another fun, uplifting single that is catchy as hell and leaves you wanting more. I for one cant wait to see what they are going to release next!
