SHARP CLASS: TALES OF A TEENAGE MIND/I’VE GOT IT COMING: PREVIEW

Nottingham mod trio Sharp Class are back with their punchy new double A-side

It‘s been almost a year since Sharp Class released Keep The Faith, and they‘ve rewarded fans patience with not one but two brand new singles!

The “lead” single Tales of A Teenage Mind (which will also been the name of the bands forthcoming debut album set for release for later in the year), was written in just 20 minutes  and it’s a fast paced, raucous rocknroll anthem. As the title suggests, it’s lyrics dive straight into the rollercoaster of emotions experienced as a teenager and pack a real punch that will be relatable to many.

“Boredom and Freedom went hand in hand and when it came down to it life was but free ride”

I’ve Got It Coming sees Sharp Class keep up the energy and pace experienced in Tales, whilst pushing the band into a different direction. We see Ollie and Lewis‘ harmonies  come to the fore, catchy guitar hooks and an outro that allows drummer Declan to take the limelight, whilst a thumping bass line drives the song along.

“This single has been in the pipeline for a long time. Too long in fact, but we had to wait for the right moment and that moment is now. We always knew that this had to be the final single before the album and now people can finally hear what we’ve had to sit on for over 2 years at this point. It’s powerful, it’s energetic, it’s liberated. It gets down to the brass tacks.”

Sharp Class: July 2022

Both tracks are exactly what Sharp Class do best: fantastic lyrics, thunderous drumming, frenetic guitars and bass grooves that you can’t help but toe-tapping along to. The double  A-side represents the bands best release to date and see the band carve out their own reputation and sound, whilst drawing on influences from the mod scene.

The spirit of mod-culture is well and truly and alive with Sharp Class: roll on the debut album!

Tales From A Teenage Mind is set for release on Friday 22nd July and can be pre-saved here. With a date for the vinyl due to be released in August.

The accompanying video is due for release on Sunday 24th July.
