Wigan 4 piece return with highly anticipated new single
Emerging from the north west of England, Stanleys are the next big thing emerging from Wigan, following in the footsteps of Britpop legends The Verve, Starsailor and The Lathums.
Their new single, Why Would I is their first release in 10 months and it’s the bands best single to date.
It’s full of the bands trademark jangly guitar riffs, catchy melody, echoing vocals and rhythmic percussion, before building towards a huge singalong chorus, with relatable lyrics:
“Why would I work for someone I do not like, Spending time on something I knows not right? Times comes to make sure I don’t regret, A life that I’d never get”
Lyrically the song explores people being stuck in the rat race of the 9-5, giving up on your dreams and working for people and work that you despise.
Fans of the band will already be familiar with the outstanding harmonies between frontman Tom Concannon and drummer Rob Hilton and on Why Would I sees the band take things up a notch.
Why Would I is a simply stunning tune, that will capture the imagination of everyone who listens to it and will see the band firmly make their mark across the rest of the UK.
Why Would I, is out now on all streaming and download platforms.
Stanleys are set to play a sold-out show at Gorilla, Manchester on Friday 29th July, sandwiched between a couple of big festival appearances at YNOT Festival and Kendal Calling, before appearing at Neighbourhood Festival on Saturday 1st October.
