Teeside indie rockers return with powerful new single.
Tonight, is the new single from Teeside indie/alternatice rockers Nice Guy, and is a melodic, powerful and anthemic anthem, representing the bands best single to date.
The heartfelt lyrics will be relatable to many who have been in a similar situation, as songwriter Michael McCluskey tells us:
"Tonight Is written about reaching that breaking point in a relationship that’s gone bad and how there’s no shame in calling time on a fight you don’t need to have. Too many people stay in unhealthy relationships in some misguided belief that to leave is to give up and the wrong thing to do. This song aims to challenge that through the perspective of a couple who have reached their ‘breaking point’ and have decided to call it a day, rather than keep fighting for something that doesn’t work".
The song will have you instantly captivated thanks to the songs great melody, great guitar hooks and the crashing of the cymbals in the songs chorus. The guitar solo in the outro, backed up with this aforementioned cymbals, is a thing of beauty and ends with on a final and long keyboard note, represents the closure of the relationship being called a day.
With more singles waiting to be recorded, gigs outside their local region and thanks to the new management 2022 is set to be the defining year for Nice Guy. I for one am very much looking forward to seeing where this ambition takes them!
