Devolution from The Utopiates, sees the 5-piece deliver their most grooviest single to date.
Having amassed over 80k streams in 2021 (a mightily impressive figure, which is even more impressive when you consider the group only formed in 2021), The Utopiates have kept their momentum going and have delivered a song that will be a contender for song of the year.
The song is driven by a groovy bass-line and hypnotic drum beat, that gives the song a dance feel. The distorted keyboard riff is iconic, instantly catchy and guaranteed to have you moving around. If that wasn’t enough, the guitar hooks are Talking Heads esque and work fantastically well with the rhythm of the song.

Lyrically, Devolution, takes a look at some of humanity’s biggest problems, summed up perfectly with this gem:
“Is it moving, or disapproving? Well either way I want it to end, But I can’t stop, I need love, How many likes can I get from this girl?”
Devolution, which is the debut single from their forthcoming debut album, sees the band lay down an exciting marker for what’s to come. Remember the name, as 2022 is going to be the year that The Utopiates breakthrough into the mainstream and beyond!
Devolution is released on Friday 11th February and can be pre-saved here.
