The Shop Window return with the release of their second single from the bands forthcoming second album, set for release in the summer.
Lighthouse is what The Shop Window do best. It’s warm, jangly and is a gem of single that takes influence from early 90s R.E.M and Teenage Fan Club.
Whenever you hear a Shop Window track you know what you are going to get: a catchy melody, great vocals and harmonies and the feeling of writing lyrics that will be relatable to many.
As Carl explains below, the verse lyrics, tackle a subject that has taken on greater meaning and impacted people over the past 2 years. However, as the chorus says “lighthouse of hope, sending a beacon to my call” having the support of a loved one, will help you through the difficult times.
“I sometimes wake up and find myself in a fog, crippled by anxiety and self doubt. ‘Lighthouse’ is about how my wife is always able to steer me through that fog to safety and firmer ground. She has an ability to do this without even realising most of the time, just by being her sparkling self.” Carl Mann – Composer
Lighthouse is a fantastic song that will be taken to the hearts of their ever growing fan-base.
Lighthouse is released on Friday 4th February and will be available from all streaming and download platforms.
Catch the band at 33 Oldham Street, in Manchester on 19th March with Arcade State and Jay Tennant.
