The Outcharms see out the year in style with their latest single Mr Rags To Riches.
The release of Mr Rags to The Riches, sees the band move away from the jangly-pop sound of previous singles To Be Young and In Love (nearly 120k Spotify streams) and release a certified banger.
With its observational lyrics, thunderous drums, thumping bass line and epic guitar hooks, Mr Rags to The Riches will cause chaos when it’s played live and is my personal favourite from a mightily impressive back-catalogue.
Speaking about the single, frontman Curtis Cooper said:
“It felt like something that not many bands write about, everyone experiences it and knows these kinds of characters but it’s not really written about – so it felt like an interesting observation. The tune itself is a banger in every sense of the word, I’d say it was the best thing we’ve done so far. We’re at the top of our game.”.
2021 has been a stellar year for the Doncaster 4-piece, which has included a sold out gig at Sheffield‘s O2 Academy2, a sold out date in Manchester and a support slot with The View’s Kyle Falconer. Next year is set to be even better, with a string of new music penciled in and a soon to be announced tour, the band will be ones to watch in 2022.
