SHARP CLASS – KEEP THE FAITH: SINGLE PREVIEW

Nottingham’s power trio, Sharp Class return with their brand new single Keep The Faith accompanied by B-Side, (remember those?)Heat.

As big fans of the iconic Northern Soul and Motown music scenes, it seems fitting that Sharp Class would release a record that takes influence from these scenes.

Keep The Faith, a phrase coined from the Northern Soul scene, is packed with the energetic drumming, thumping bass lines and guitar riffs that will live long in the memory.

The lyrics to this song are about believing in yourself and staying true to yourself and those beliefs.

🎶 I’ve got to keep the faith, because the future is my aim, and I mustn’t throw it away and let my true principals deviate🎶

Sharp Class are a band who firmly believe in the b-side and in this modern age (and someone who remembers the excitement of extra tracks) when we get the single only, it’s really refreshing.

The guitars on Heat are a more heavier than it’s A-side but still encompasses the spirit of the Northern Soul and Motown scene. I love the jam session halfway through the trac, the subtle guitar riffs and thumping bass and can see this song be a real crowd pleaser when it’s played live.

Heat was written during the covid pandemic when we were all locked up and describe feelings of being in limbo; a feeling that will be relatable to us all.

The artwork for the single was shot on location at Breedon Priory Church atop of Breedon On The Hill in Derbyshire.  The meaning behind the artwork is that music is the bands faith and despite the last 18 months, the band have done exactly that and returned with a triumphant single that showcases the bands distinctive image, tightness as a group and growing organically as a band through word of mouth.

Keep The Faith is released on Friday 27th August and can be pre-saved here
