Doncaster 4 piece, The Outcharms have dropped their brand new EP Little Disco, which features 3 songs full of beautiful melodies, great lyrics and brilliant musicianship.
The title track Little Disco starts off the EP and it’s a classic. The guitars have a Johnny Marr vibe and contain lyrics that are full of positivity, plauding the listener to “Seize the day” which is written in defiance to the last 18 months.
Spoil The Fun is a song bursting with energy. There’s a bouncing drum beat, guitars which switch from jangly to rocky and it’s full of key/tempo changes including a brief pause before the monumental outro, with its thundering drumming, epic guitar riff and tempo changes. A great anthem and brilliant lyrics.
🎶An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a lie for a lie when you just know the truth🎶
Acetate has been a fans favourite for a long time and it’s easy to see why, with its upbeat and energetic tone. Lyrically the song discuss fake people, being two-faced and seeing straight then.
🎶 I can see straight through ya, your like Acetate🎶
Frontman Curtis Cooper spoke on ‘Little Disco’: “The EP is this band from both ends of the spectrum. The title track, 'Little Disco', was written over the last 18 months. It was born out of frustration and you can hear us hoping for brighter days. The remainder of the EP is two songs that have been with us over the last four years. 'Acetate' was the first song we wrote as a band and it's undergone a fair bit of a facelift since then, we know a lot of our fans love it. 'Spoil The Fun' came about a little bit later when we were beginning to find our feet. It's always caused some chaos at our live shows. The EP feels like the perfect way to round this chapter off, ready for even bigger and better things.”
