Here I Am is the brand new single from Liverpool singer/songwriter, Mark Bleasdale and is inspired by a charity walk that Mark and his friends are undertaking to raise vital money for Mind, the mental health charity.
The song is a slow ballad, with a sound not to dissimilar to Manchester legends, Elbow and includes strings, a striking guitar riff and piano. The lyrics are powerful and really capture the essence of the cause that is being supported. Watch the full lyric video below:
“Can’t hide the feelings, But the feelings don’t make the man”
The song was written and recorded in Mark’s home studio and Mark hopes that the song will help remove the stigma surrounding mental health and that talking about your problems can help; as Mark explains:
“Like most men I struggle to talk about mental heath issues so I decided to write a song. All proceeds are going to the cause”
In conjunction with the single release, Mark will be undertaking the Sandstone trial, a 34 mile trek, in one day with 20 of his mates on Saturday 26th June.
