Jay Tennant- Spectre Review

Singer songwriter Jay Tennant releases his new single Spectre on 23rd April and it’s full of swirling guitar riffs and raises the excitement and anticipation ahead of his 3rd album, which will be released later in the year.

The song kicks off with the build up of intense guitars, which grab your attention instantly and remind me of The Velvet Underground and Mucky Fingers by Oasis, before swaggering and strutting its way into guitar riffs, thundering drums, passionate verses and an unforgettable chorus, more of that in a moment.

The song is a real rocknroll stomper with the song detailing a passionate love story, as Tennant sings

“You’re a diamond in the rough, and I’ll never get enough, the only one I want tonight”

So that unforgettable chorus then. It swoons. It has you singing along instantly and long after it’s finished. It has beautiful harmonies that work brilliantly with the guitar playing. You don’t want it to end.

Just before the outro, the instruments get turned down, to showcase Jay’s powerful vocal, before building back up into a crescendo of noise. This is a perfect example of Jay’s craftsmanship as a singer songwriter and knowing how to write the perfect rocknroll anthem.

Spectre released across all streaming platforms on Friday 23rd April and can pre-saved on the following platforms Spotify iTunes and Amazon Music
