On hearing the latest single from gritpop band The Rotanas, I was instantly blown away.
The song is a real rock n roll odyssey, with its killer guitar riffs and hooks, thundering drums and pounding rhythm. Wherever and whenever you play this song, turn the volume up and play it LOUD!!
Once live gigs return, I can already visualise fans of the band pogoing to this song and predict it will quickly become one of the favourites of any future live set put together by the band.
The song takes influence from all of the rocknroll greats including Oasis, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Stereophonics and The Verve, due to its anthem like qualities, catchy chorus and melody.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the new track, songwriter James Wilson commented: “
‘Manic‘is a song written about people who have issues that you can see that they can’t, and the confrontation based around that. It’s built on a personal experience where I could clearly see a close friend had mental and anger issues, and despite my best efforts to intervene, I watched on and saw those issues effect and seep into their personal relationships.”
‘Manic’ was recorded with Richard Jackson (Pretty Vicious, The Automatic, Super Furry Animals), mixed by Nick Brine (Oasis, The Stone Roses, The Verve) and mastered by Pete Maher (The Rolling Stones, U2). A real who’s who of British guitar music and a sure sign that the band mean serious business in becoming your favourite new band.
