Joe Astley and The WallGate Band have started off 2021 with a real bang, by releasing Television Fantasy, the lead single from their forthcoming debut EP (date to be confirmed thanks to COVID).

Television Fantasy is instantly and insanely catchy and starts off a brilliant funky bass line, before the drums and guitars kick in and have you tapping your foot along.

The lyrics and theme of the song touches on a crazy 2020, where our lives seemed to revolve constantly around the news because of Covid-19, the political chaos in America and the Black Lives Matter matter movement.

“Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, television fantasy is all you know for certain, pay no attention to the riot at the front door, television fantasy is all there is worth living for”

The song has got great production, with Joe backed by The WallGate band: which includes bass and lead guitar, drummer, keys and a saxophone player and provides the song with something different that isn’t always seen very often.

Television Fantasy is out now and is available from Apple Music https://music.apple.com/gb/album/television-fantasy-single/1543139468 Spotify https://open.spotify.com/track/3TML4qWn3DUPwdUFZuu59C?si=CimTGqX8RCabimXIE02Rrw or ITunes.

However, if streaming and downloading isn’t your thing, then head over to Joe’s newly launched website, when you can buy the record on ltd edition orange vinyl http://joeastley.co.uk
