Kid Violet – Be Happy Single Review

Kid Violet are ending 2020 on a real high, with the release of their latest single Be Happy, a song full of energy, riffs and powerful singing that has become synonymous with the band.

The song starts with the drums, before the bass kicks in, before the mesmerising guitar riff starts and is played on loop, which gives the song a real dance vibe about it, think The Stone Roses and early Kasabian.

The song has a really strong message about being in love, doing things that make you happy and being yourself. Be Happy is a brilliantly crafted indie rock song, from a band that has got more and confident and self assured with each release.

The penultimate minute of the song slows right down to a chant of ‘Be Happy’ before breaking out into a crescendo of noise including that mesmerising guitar riff and Billy Cotter singing ‘I know you fucking adore me, let’s go and take it all’

I highly recommend going to see Kid Violet live in 2021, because the energy and enjoyment you hear on their record is transmitted to their live sound.

I’m predicting big things in 2021 for the band and are definitely on my ones to watch list.
