Crying Beauty Queens (or CBQ as they are known amongst their fast growing fan base) are a trio hailing from Manchester and ‘Blackbird’ is their second single release of 2020.
You are instantly drawn into how tight they are as band and the bands that influenced and inspired them, which includes the Beach Boys, New Order, Fleetwood Mac and The Cure. Any one of those bands would be very happy if they had recorded Blackbird, it really is that good.
Blackbird has a real dreamy feel and the vocal is fantastic and beautifully delivered and just adds to the dream like feel the song has.
