Mirror Pictures -You Can’t Change The Past Review

Indie punk rockers, The Mirror Pictures have released their debut album and it has everything you want from an indie punk rock band, to put it simply its fantastic.

‘You Can’t Change The Past’ is 31 minutes of indie pop, punk, with the topics ranging from love, heartbreak/break ups and dreams/hopes for the future.

The album isn’t afraid to show its influences, including Oasis and Cast for its anthems and melodies.

The album even includes a nod to David Bowie, in the punchy ‘Listening to Bowie’ in which the listener is taken on a journey of discovering something new for the first. The guitar riffs are great as are the cross references to several Bowie tracks.

However the influences don’t end there. ‘Robin Friday’, is punk rock because of its snarling guitars and could easily have been written by The Sex Pistols and somehow manages to squeeze 2 guitar solos in the track, which I love! ‘Robin Friday’ is a biographical song about an ex Reading footballer and is a song about football, booze, sex and drugs. It’s well worth checking out his story as it’s very colourful!

This is an album that leaves you wanting more!

The album can be streamed from the link below, or alternatively head on over to their bandcamp page where you can land a physical copy or download!
