Solo artist Ryan Redwood releases stomping first release of 2024!

Having been a frontman of two local bands, the covid pandemic gave Ryan time to reevaluate his musical direction and, in 2020 he embarked on a solo journey which has seen him release five singles, steadily gaining recognition, and resulted in him supporting Corella, The Reverend and The Makers, Joel Stoker (The Rifles) and Twin Atlantic, and releasing debut EP Twenty Something Romance , earning rave reviews along the way.

On the new single, Ryan has moved away from the acoustic guitars and returned with an exciting, upbeat thrashing sound, that is 100mph from start to finish and will leave you wanting more.

You are immediately hit with thumping drums, that provides the track with its unbridled energy, and punchy guitar riffs that will have you hooked instantly.

Ryan’s vocal is really engaging, melodic and when he sings you can feel the passion pouring out: he really means every lyric.

The chorus is begging you to sing along too, it’s really hook-y and is a side of Ryan’s songwriting that he continues to absolutely nail.

Old News is an energetic, upbeat indie rock anthem, that you’ll want to listen to over and over again. It will bring Ryan’s music to a whole new audience and it’s richly deserved.

For me this is Ryan’s best track to date, it has everything you want in a indie rock anthem, whilst maintaining a sense of freshness. If 2023 was the year Ryan put in the groundwork, 2024 is the year that Redwood well and truly breaks through.

Old News is released on Friday 21st June and can be pre-saved here.
